As one of the few if not only people that actually USE charm animal on the mud, I'll say a few things about rangers.

I already use charm more than the other util skills/spells on ranger, and can't really see how a new pet would add any benefit.

Rangers already do decent damage, and do not need a pet to increase it further really.

As for the spells part, and having them use moves instead of mana, I dont really follow there..

There are only 3 spells in the entire slist for ranger, wildcry, animal empathy, and eagle eye.

Only wildcry really even needs to be maintained, since its the only one that does something for affects.

The other two are for questing, and usually you don't use them especially when exping.

Also tons of ranger skills already use moves, and can eat up all of your moves pretty fast anyways.

And as for these almost never used skills, I don't think there are really any, I've used pretty much everything on rangers

unless you're saying that stuff like hunt or trace or all those questing skills are almost never used

but thats kind of like saying enchant weapon is almost never used since u really need it once per new chaos weapon.

If you quest a ton, and do a ton around the mud nothing on rangers is really rarely used, in fact quite the opposite of that.

charm animal the way it is right now is actually a very good skill and it would be a very bad move to change it. As it is, sleep can not be used against a fighting mob whereas charm can, making it very handy as a sleep type skill. The only other skill capable of doing this at the moment is kendo, both are unique and should stay the way it currently is.

Call the unique skill "Whirling Hook" or something, since a Pugilist is "technically" a boxer. Some kind of message like, "Quicksilver smashes everyone in the room with a massive right hook!" Could be similar to an area Shield Dash

I also remember that Soth. I think a sleeping mob is MUCH more vulnerable than one that is alert and attentive. I think once you cast sleep on a mob once, it should gain some resistance to sleep again (ie can only sleep then bs/cobra once) Sleep + bs + peace + sleep etc etc a bit buff.
As one of the 3 rangers on Chaos, I guess i'll hafta step up here

I LOVE the idea of a groupable "pet" if you will. Maybe even make charm animal a lower level skill, then give the pet skills instead of the ranger at higher levels. Replace some of the veeeery situational and almost never used skills. Even get to the point where you summon a pet at a very high mana cost. I'd even be okay with ranger skills using moves instead of mana since they have so many skills that reduce movement cost.
So I heard after the class meetings that the Priests were getting some sort of mob control. Was just wondering when/if that was coming? I know it takes time to code / test / debug changes. Just curious
