Pugilist / Abbot

Pugilist / Abbot

This post can be expanded to many things concerning the two; however, what I wanted to note was Pugilist's inability to blind, which I'm sure is already known.  Even Abbot gets blindness at 101.  I think this might solve some of the trouble with the pugilist class, then again, it might not solve everything considering I've heard they're simply a mediocre tank.  Thoughts?

Re: Pugilist / Abbot

In my opinion, giving pugilists blind is not the solution to making them better.  Sure, it is the most direct and straight forward fix, but I would rather see a more unique idea brought up.

I'd like to see some kind of secondary attack with one round lag, that they could use that would combine a kind of mass rescue along with a small amount of damage to each mob attacking a member of the group (damage comparable to whirl perhaps.)  Call it "Covering Attack," where the pugilist charges forward, push back the attackers with some sort of roundhouse kick, and then positions himself at the front of the group to protect his allies.

I think this would make the pugilist better... still not on par with knights or necromancers, but it would give them something unique that would at least improve their tanking skills a bit.

I, too, like that idea and it would make them a bit more unique.  That sort of maneuver could also have a slight chance at stunning the victim, or maybe even confusing them (making them less likely to hit for a round or two).

I'm sure there are other things that can be done as well.  I just don't have a pugilist to test anything; I just knew that pugilist's were not known for their tanking abilities.

Abbot (word Of Force Vs Ancient Lore)

Just curious, to anyone who knows the code of the mud or just a little more than me, what is the difference between the two?  Can word of force get a lot stronger than ancient lore in the end? I ask because as of right now ancient lore does either equal the amount of word of force or has a better chance of not botching the cast of it.  Any input is welcomed.

Call the unique skill "Whirling Hook" or something, since a Pugilist is "technically" a boxer. Some kind of message like, "Quicksilver smashes everyone in the room with a massive right hook!" Could be similar to an area Shield Dash
